The words “cool”, “Texas”, and “August” are not usually in the same sentence. Then again, this has been a year with some strange weather. This unusually cool start to August for Texans is certainly a welcome change. Temperatures are mainly in the 70*F’s and 80*F’s across the state. Over the last 24 hours, Abilene has seen around .25" and DFW Airport has seen almost .50″. Meanwhile, Waco has reported nearly 1.25″ of rain. Showers continue across parts of Central and Southeast Texas. A few rumbles of thunder are possible, but otherwise, just a nice rain. This unsettled pattern will persist for at least the next week.
