What was formerly known as Invest 90L became Tropical Storm Franklin yesterday. It will weaken as it crosses the Yucatan Peninsula shortly, but it will regain its strength and more in the Gulf of Mexico. We should have Hurricane Franklin on Wednesday. Fortunately for Texas, the system was not able to gain enough latitude in order to be lifted northwest around the edge of the ridge. It is expected to move into Central Mexico Thursday morning.
