The weather is quiet across the state, but this will not be the case this weekend. A storm system will track into the Central US this weekend. The threat for thunderstorms, some of which will be strong to severe, will increase late Saturday. While confidence is fairly high that the Southern Plains will see Severe Weather this weekend, there are some timing differences among the models. If the system is a few hours slower, the threat would focus more on Northwest Texas than North Texas. The SPC has a Slight Risk issued for Day 4 (Saturday) from North Texas through Southeast Kansas. Do expect some changes as we get closer to the weekend, but know that the potential for Severe Weather will exist.
