A Severe Thunderstorm produced a Tornado just southwest of Rusk, Texas Tuesday evening. Rusk is approximately 40 miles to the S/SE of Tyler. It has been given a preliminary rating of an EF-2 Tornado with maximum winds of 115 MPH. This is considered a Strong Tornado. The National Weather Service in Shreveport made the following statement this afternoon: Survey teams from the National Weather Service office in Shreveport were deployed to East Texas on December 20, 2017, to investigate the damage.
