A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for parts of Northern and Central Texas. These go into effect tonight and continue through at least Sunday morning. Freezing Drizzle and Sleet are the concerns across the area. As the final piece of upper-level energy rotates into the area, additional precipitation is expected to develop late tonight. This could be in the form of a more organized band, according to the hi-res models. You can see what one of our afternoon models suggest from 12:00 AM to 12:00 PM Sunday. While the radar will not look exactly like this, it does give you an idea of what we could see and why the National Weather Service has issued these advisories. Where minor accumulations of Sleet/Ice occur in the advisory area, travel impacts are likely.
As mentioned on Facebook earlier, our wild February is unfolding. We can expect this active weather pattern to continue. Both Winter Weather and Severe Weather will be concerns in the upcoming weeks. Check back here and on the Facebook page for the latest!
