We are still looking at the possibility of a couple intense Supercells in North Texas later today and into this evening. Skies are gradually clearing from west to east, and the atmosphere is destabilizing out toward Abilene. Between 1:00 and 3:00 PM, we will be watching for signs of development in western North Texas. Anything that develops could quickly reach severe limits as it tracks eastward. Again, storm coverage may be low (20-30%), but any surface-based storm will be capable of producing Very Large Hail to the size of Golf Balls and even Baseballs, Damaging Winds, and an isolated Tornado. While Severe Weather is possible farther south, the area of greatest concern is from I-20 northward through the Red River Valley.
Those in and near the risk areas need to have a way to get the latest information from the National Weather Service through this evening. It would be a good idea to protect any outside items that could get damaged by hail and wind. I will be posting updates on the Facebook page. Be sure to check back!
