Mid-October Weather Trends For Texas

9:20 PM CDT | October 17, 2018

I have discussed the similarities to 2009 since August. We saw the flip from hot and dry in August to mild and wet in September. The wet weather continues this month. October started mild/warm across the state, but as you can see in the second graphic, the cooler anomalies are spreading southward.

Below normal temperatures will continue for much of the state, so expect this to continue. The last graphic shows the temperature anomalies in October of 2009. I feel that by the time we wrap up the month, it could look VERY much like 2009. You can already see how it is trending that way.
