Next system arrives late tomorrow, bringing another chance for showers and a few storms. The cold front moves into the DFW metro tomorrow evening, most likely after sunset. A strong storm with gusty winds and small hail is possible, but moisture will be limited. With that in mind, severe weather appears unlikely.
What is of greater concern is Monday's system. Saturday night's cold front will not push the deep moisture too far south. As southerly flow strengthens again by Sunday afternoon, this moisture will lift northward. The stage could be set for severe weather from Eastern Texas through the Mississippi Valley Monday afternoon and evening. A few of the models show this risk extending as far west as the I-35 corridor of North Texas, but right now, the favored area is to the east. We have plenty of time to see how things shape up, though. The fall severe weather season seems to be well underway.
