This is today’s forecast from the NWS Fort Worth. While temperatures will become supportive of a rain/snow mix north and west of DFW Airport later today and this evening, a dry slot is already working its way into the area.
Most of the guidance indicates that the low will become cut off from the main flow over Texas. Right now, *most* models are not too optimistic about additional precipitation chances Tuesday-Wednesday. They show a very dry atmosphere. Sometimes, the strong lift near a closed low can compensate for a very dry atmosphere and produce some light precipitation. It is certainly possible we see some flurries (light snow?) near the low. The Canadian weather model depicts this scenario from North Central/Northeast Texas into Arkansas on Wednesday. This is something to watch.
