Marginal Risk Of Severe For North Texas On Wednesday

4:00 PM CST | February 4, 2019

A few weather models suggest an isolated storm or two off the dryline late tomorrow afternoon/early evening. Other models show the cap holding strong to the west of Dallas-Fort Worth. We will have a better idea of the cap strength in the morning.

The greater risk for a few Strong to Severe Storms will arrive late Wednesday as upper-level lift increases in advance of our system. The SPC has a Marginal Risk from the I-20 corridor of North Texas, through South Central/Eastern Oklahoma, and into the Ozarks for Wednesday.

SPC Day 3 Outlook Valid Wednesday, February 6, 2019

While parts of the Marginal Risk area could be upgraded to a Slight Risk in later outlooks, a widespread/significant episode is not expected at this time. Nonetheless, it would be a good idea to review severe weather safety plans since it has been a while. I will keep you posted on it as we get closer.
